Master’s Message – March 2011

Posted by Brian Cayer on February 28, 2011

Greetings Brethren,
As I write this, the snow is melting, can spring be far away? We can only wait and see…

The month of March is going to be busy at Lafayette. At our stated meeting, Ezekiel Bates lodge of Attleboro Mass. will make a fraternal visit and exemplify the closing of the Lodge in Massachusetts Ritual. We will be entertained by Dale Munschy and his wife Sylvia Berry who will play piano duets on an antique instrument. Dinner will be prepared by “The Garlic Connection” a cooking club that our own W. Richard Gagne is a member of, menu to consist of chicken with mushrooms, stuffed eggplant, scalloped potatoes and a Sicilian salad that is to die for.. Bring your appetite. We will also remember our fallen Brother W. Bert Welton with the traditional Lafayette toast.

On the 7th on March we will raise our two newest Brothers to the degree of Master Mason. The officers have been working hard to make this a memorable night for the candidates, please come out and support them, and greet our newest members. We will open at 6pm, perform the first section, break for dinner and continue with the degree.

March 16th Lafayette will make a fraternal visit to Ezekiel Bates Lodge and exemplify the closing of a Rhode Island Lodge using our ritual. I am looking forward to strengthening the bonds that have developed between our two lodges and share in the Friendship and Brotherly Love of the Craft between the Jurisdictions. Dinner is at 6:30 and the opening is at 7:30, I am looking forward to spending a great evening with W. Dale Naismith and the Brothers from Ezekiel Bates.

There are several Table Lodges being held this spring. Morning Star is holding a “Mixed Grill” on March 5th, Roger Williams is having a Luau theme on the 9th of April and Lafayette is holding a “John Wayne” Table Lodge on the 23rd of April. W. Ron Wheeler has been hard at work to make the evening an entertaining and informative one. Dinner will be a BBQ theme. Wear you cowboy boots and bandana (six shooters optional and must be checked at the door). Tickets are $25.

The officers meet the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Mondays of the month and we welcome any brothers to join us to help with the work or just join us for fellowship.

Fraternally
Bob Drisko,
Master
