From the West – October 2011

Posted by Brian Cayer on October 1, 2011

Once again fall is here and for Lafayette Lodge that means so is our Annual Communication. And for me it is special because I have been following my good friend and brother W. Bob Drisko as I did when I took the oath of an EA. W Bob has done a fantastic job as Master and I know he is leaving the Master chair as other past masters have, in a better place, and I hope the same will be said of me next year.

One thing I will let you know, I have planned a busy year with a number of different activities, some things will be a continuation of what has worked and I few new wrinkles coming up as well.

October 1, is Semi Public dinner at 6:00pm, Installation at 7:00 pm
October 2, Masonic Church Service 10 am at Chapel Street Congregational Church 185 Chapel St Lincoln RI
October 15, Open House
October 22, Breakfast for Franklin Farms
Blood Drive for the RI Blood Bank
And a Flea Market/Yard Sale

Master’s Message – October 2011

Posted by Brian Cayer on October 1, 2011

Greetings Brethren,

I have just returned from the 50 year luncheon. It was a time to remember our Charter members and the work they did to establish Lafayette #47; and to present 50 year service medals to Brothers Roy Butterworth, Alex Krueger, and Jim Stewart. Thank you to R.W. Peter Iacobucci DDGM for the work of the afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and hope all in attendance did also.

October 1st is our stated meeting, annual and semi public installation of officers. We will open at 4pm; conduct our business and move on to the annual. After dinner the officers for the ensuing year will be installed. I am confident that they will do an excellent job in running the lodge for the next year. Please come out and support your officers on this special day.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Brothers who supported me during my term as Master. It has been an exciting and rewarding experience and one I will fondly remember. We have had a year of joys and sorrows and all these things caused us to become closer as a lodge and as Brothers. I take pleasure in the time we spend together, and hope for many more opportunities to spend time with you all.

There are many challenges that we face in the near future. Together we can make the most of the gifts the Grand Architect has given us and overcome whatever gets in our way.

Bob Drisko
