When you are in lodge and the substitute for the Master Mason’s word travels from west to east and from east to west again what do you think about? Are you just watching some-thing you have seen numerous times with no thoughts about it at all? Are you thinking that it’s almost time to go home? Are you watching to see if someone makes a mistake? Next time you watch this portion of our ritual think about it. Watch the due gard of each degree and think about the obligation you took at the altar. Then watch the signs and remember your oath. Think about how many men have taken the same oath as you, famous men and not so famous men. Think about how we are all equal and meet on the level. Think about how old and ancient our great fraternity is. Think about the brother standing next to and how you promised to help, aid and assist.
So, next time you see this ritual really think about what it means, to you and the frater-nity.

Your Worshipful Master

May 2009 – Master’s Message

Posted by Brian Cayer on May 4, 2009

Greetings Brethren,

The District Deputy visitation was a success. I want to thank Right Worshipful Ray Hassell for continuing the work of the evening for me, as I was under the weather.
Dinner for this coming meeting will be meatloaf with all the fixings. The ladies are invited for dinner. The program for the evening will be about our own Lafayette Apron given by our brother Ken Long.

The Philadelphia trip had to be canceled. Unfortunately we did not get enough people to sign up. Perhaps we could go sometime as a small group without booking a tour company. With that weekend being free now I would like to know if anyone is interested in going to the Heritage Museum in Lexington Massachusetts on June 13th. It will be an informal day and if enough interest is out there perhaps we could rent some vans and split the cost amongst us.

I have added another puzzle this month to the Trestleboard. I hope you enjoyed the last one I sent out.

I would like to congratulate brother Scott Roderick on his new job with the Army National Guard. Keep up the good work and thanks for serving

Worshipful Master,
Ron Wheeler

Posted by Brian Cayer on May 4, 2009

You and your Masonic Guests are invited to the
599th Regular Communication of
Lafayette Lodge #47 F&AM

That will be held on
Wednesday evening, May 6, 2009 at 6:30pm

For the transaction of such business as will come before the lodge and the following:
7:30 Open Lodge
Program of the evening: 3rd section of the Master Mason’s Degree
Collation after the meeting.

Attest: RW Andre L. Gregoire PM, Secretary
W Ronald Wheeler, Worshipful Master

“Worshipful,” therefore, in modern Masonry continues an ancient word meaning ” greatly respected.” A Grand Master is “Most Worshipful, that is “Most greatly respected” (Except in Pennsylvania, where the Grand Master is Right Worshipful” as are Pennsylvania’s & Texas’ Past Grand Masters).
