Master’s Message – November 2009

Posted by Brian Cayer on October 19, 2009

Greetings Brethren,

I want to thank you all for the support and confidence you have given me as I take on the role as master. This is a great honor and privilege and I will do my best to represent the office. I also want to thank WM Ron Wheeler for an out-standing job. Not only did he lead the lodge with detailed precision and hard work he would always say “I just want to have fun with my brothers”

The weather is changing fast and so is our lodge. Over the last 5 years the senior members have been recruiting, train-ing and educating the new members. It’s now time the newer members all step up and face the new challenge. Our new line of officers represents a new beginning for our lodge. Over the last few years our lodge has, completed out-standing degree work, raised new capitol and made signifi-cant improvements to the lodge.

Next year we will celebrate our 50th anniversary. I would love to see many senior members back in lodge so you may relax and watch the officers. I believe the hard work and dedication you will see will bring back many fond memories of what you went through. You all laid the foundation and what a good one it was. Thank you.
This meeting we will have Bob Maddox cooking a complete turkey dinner. Don Dolphin will be giving us a history lesson on the lodge and we will have some guests from the Elks attending. I am sure you will make them feel welcome.

Fraternally,
Bill Bundeff
Master

Master’s Message – October 2009

Posted by Brian Cayer on October 5, 2009

Greetings Brethren,

With the change of the season comes the change of the officers for Lafayette lodge. It is time once again for Lafayette’s annual communication. It is incumbent for all members to come out and vote for your next line of officers.

Our two candidates are progressing nicely and have been passed to the degree of Fellow Craft. They will probably be taking the 3rd degree sometime in either November or December. I look forward to the day when they sign the bylaws. They are two fine gentlemen and will be assets to our gentle craft.

Dinner for the evening will be chicken marsala and a pork roast prepared by our own Worshipful Bob Maddix. This is not a semi-public installation but the ladies are always welcome for dinner.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the brethren of Lafayette lodge for supporting me as your master. I have received many kind words from several brethren and I really appreciate it. Back in 2003 I was one chair away from being your master but relocating to Tucson Arizona put a halt to my ascension to the east. Upon my return I took up where I left off and I have to say it was well worth the wait. I had a
wonderful time serving as your master and have gotten to know my brothers more than I ever thought I would. Thank you for everything.

Fraternally
Ron Wheeler,
Worshipful Master
