Master’s Message – June 2014

Posted by Brian Cayer on May 27, 2014

Brethren,

Happy Memorial Day and unofficial start to summer. June is the last month we meet until September so that we may enjoy the warm weather for some needed rest, reflection and time with our families. But then we will shortly return from recess to labor and I am reminded by the Hour Glass –” Behold how swiftly the sands run”.

I want to thank Matt Ludwig and Andy Gregoire for the ham dinner last month, it was well done. Thanks to all the brothers that helped or came out to support the Spring Breakfast. We made several hundred dollars for the Temple but having the opportunity to share the time with our Brethren was Priceless.
Our June meeting will be on Wednesday, June4th. The program is will be a music group from my church called “Hymns and Hers”. They might be likened to an older Christian Rock Band. To celebrate summer we will have a BBQ of chicken, hamburger and hot dogs with the usual accompanying side dishes. If anyone wants to make a favorite side to bring let me know.

We have also started the new Masonic year and welcome in our new Grand Master Wyman P. Hallstrom III. Also, congratulations to W. Mark Eddleston who will be the new Grand Master of Ceremonies for the Northern Masonic District accompanying District Deputy Grand Master Gary S. Kaufman. We look forward to seeing them in the Lodge.

The Fellow Craft degree for our candidates will be on Monday, June 16th. Some of Lodge members (The Master, Steve Acello and Kevin Pellerin) along with R.W. Ken Poyton and members of Friendship #7 are riding in the MS-150, June 21-22. If you would like to support the team here is the link: ,a href=”http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR?pg=team&fr_id=22426&team_id=351109″>http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR?pg=team&fr_id=22426&team_id=351109. Also, on Sunday June 22 one of the pit stops for the ride will be at Lafayette.

Fraternally,
W. Brian R. Cayer

Master’s Message – May 2014

Posted by Brian Cayer on May 1, 2014

Brethren,
I hope everyone enjoyed the May meeting and the Mystic Seaport program. We had a good turnout for the District Deputy visit. I want to thank Steve Acello for helping me with the April chicken parmesan meal; I know it was well liked by all.

Our May meeting will be on Wednesday, May 7th. The program is Polite Society Teas from Lynn Rankin who is a historic re-enactor (rescheduled from February). She brings her knowledge of historic time periods and combines it with her love of tea, etiquette and women’s studies. Since it was close to Mother’s Day I thought it fitting to have a program the ladies will enjoy. The dinner will be a ham meal prepared by Andy Gregoire and Matt Ludwig. Please make reservations.

Reminder on upcoming dates:
Saturday May 3rd will be our Northern District Charity Dinner and Dance. Please see our Junior Warden Ted Hague if you need tickets.
Saturday, May 10th will be our Annual Spring Breakfast, 7-11am. Spread the word and let me know if you will be there to help. Tickets will be $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
Monday, May 19th is the Grand Lodge annual meeting and banquet.

Remember the Lodge is available for rent by all Lafayette members for $50 or $250 for non-members. Contact Dave Becker or Steve Acello if you would like to reserve it.

Fraternally,
W. Brian R. Cayer
