Master’s Message – February 2014

Posted by Brian Cayer on January 27, 2014

Brethren,

I hope those who could attend enjoyed the January Festive board. It was great to have Ken Poyton, the District Deputy for the Northern Masonic District and Steve McGuire the Junior Grand Warden attend. Special thanks to Peter Kindeforski, Jay Dotzenrod and Leo Kennedy for assisting in the kitchen. Also, congratulations to Don Gendron, Jeff Petite, Leo Switzer and Ted Lucier for passing their Master Mason proficiency and signing the by-laws to become full members of Lafayette. I want to thank them also for immediately getting involved and helping serve the meal.

A reminder for our newest Masons that our Grand Lodge has a Master Mason Rookie Award Program that can give you a good start to your journey in Freemasonry. I know any of the veteran Brothers will be happy to assist you. Our Junior Warden Ted Hague had done a similar program in Massachusetts and speaks very highly of it. More information on the award can be found on the Grand Lodge website: http://www.rimasons.org/joomla/virtual-library/master-mason-rookie-award

Our February dinner will be Steve Acello’s chicken parmesan; make your reservations as I am sure we will have a good turnout. The program of the evening will follow the tradition of making the February meeting a ladies’ appreciation night. The program is Polite Society Teas from Lynn Rankin who is a historic re-enactor. She brings her knowledge of historic time periods and combines it with her love of tea, etiquette and women’s studies.

The business of the evening will be the voting on three new candidates. Contact the Master or Secretary for the names. Since we will be working on the degrees for our newest candidates, I wanted to remind all Brothers I will find a place for you in the degrees if you want to participate.

Fraternally,
W. Brian R. Cayer
