Master’s Message – June 2013

Posted by Brian Cayer on May 30, 2013

Greetings Brethren:

Our June stated meeting will be quite a busy evening. We will open Lodge at 6:00 pm to hear proficiency from our newest Master Masons, later signing the bylaws, and also vote on one candidate to receive the three degrees of Freemasonry. Recess will be called for dinner served at 6:45 pm. The program for the evening will be the Providence Brigade Civil war brass band. I am sure family and friends will enjoy this period music complete with original 1860’s instruments and uniforms to match. Following the concert, our Past Masters will be presenting to the Lodge a portrait painted by Lafayette member W∴ Harley Bartlett of our own Past Grand Master M∴W∴ Steve Smith. Immediately following the meeting a toast will be given in the Stern’s room in honor of the passing of our long time lodge
member Red Krueger.

The officers have a busy summer planned even though we will not be meeting in July and August. An Entered Apprentice degree is planned for June 13, Chicken BBQ June 15, a cigar smoker and BBQ August 3rd, and don’t forget the Grand Lodge picnic on Sunday August 11. Tickets are also on sale for “THE BIG RAFFLE” to be drawn in December. Ask any one of the officers for details. They have worked hard to organize these events so please come out and support them and “your” lodge.
I would like to welcome our new District Deputy, R∴W∴ Kenneth Poyton and his Marshal W∴Donald Dunford and also our new Assistant Grand Lecturer W∴ Manuel Lewis to the district. I also want to thank R∴W∴ Glen Carlson and his Marshal W∴ Scott Alger and W∴ Harley Bartlett for all their support over the past year.

We gather every Monday (except the second Monday of the month and July/August) at 7:00pm for rehearsal, and everyone is welcome, whether it’s to help or just for the fellowship. Hope to see you there soon.

Fraternally,
WBrother Mark Eddleston , Master

Master’s Message – May 2013

Posted by Brian Cayer on May 1, 2013

Greetings Brethren:

Our May stated meeting will be a 4 course festive board. Many of you attended our last one in January and know how well received it was so get your reservations in early to reserve a spot. Worshipful Drisko and Lyle will have chef duties that evening and R.W. Andy Gregoire will be providing the program. We also have one candidate to vote on. This will complete the next class of four candidates to receive the EA Degree on June 13th.

On Monday, May 20 R∴W∴ Russell Davis will be installed as our new Grand Master for the State of Rhode Island. The ceremony begins at 9:00am at the Grand Lodge in East Providence with dinner to follow at 6:00pm at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. Our own Battery B will be presenting the colors that evening at the diner. I encourage all of you to join us in celebrating MW elect Davis’s kickoff event. I will be taking the dinner reservation request. More information on the dinner is located in this Trestle board. Hope to see many of you there.

A big thank to all the members of the Lodge that participated in our cleanup day. It was a huge success and a great turnout. Thank you all who donated equipment and to Brother Steve Acello for organizing this event, the heavy equipment operators, the power washers, the raker’s and chainsaw operators. It was a pleasure for me to share our Brotherhood for the day.

We gather every Monday (except the second Monday of the month) at 7:00 pm for rehearsal, and everyone is welcome, whether it’s to help or just for the fellowship. Hope to see you there soon.

Please have your wives check the message from my wife on the last panel of this trestle-board.

Fraternally,
W. Brother Mark Eddleston , Master
